The events that took place at the meeting of the board were the subject of the eventual proceedings at the High Court. A number of matters were recorded at the minutes of the meeting. These matters are related with the separation proposal. A resolution was also passed by the board of the company in this meeting. This resolution provided that it is in their best interest of the company to effect the separation of Coy and Jsekarb. At the same time, several other resolutions related with the separation were also passed. It was also said in the meeting that sufficient funds were available with the foundation, MCRF to deal with all the legitimate claims of compensation that can be anticipated in future. It was also stated that the directors of the company had determined the level of funding. That was needed by the foundation and they were s atisfied that the foundation has sufficient funds available with it. It was discovered during the trial and by the Court of Appeal that when these statements were made in February, 2001, it should have been clearly known to the directors of James Hardie that the statements made regarding the availability of funds with the foundation were in fact misleading. However, this was not the issue before the High Court. On the other hand, the main issue before the High Court was if it should have been found by the Court of Appeal, as it did, that the ASIC had failed in establishing that a draft of announcement made by the company to the ASX had been tabled at the meeting of the board, held in February, and it had not been established that the draft had been approved by the directors. On the other hand, the directors of the company argued that the draft announcement was not tabled at the board meeting held in February.. For this purpose, they impugned the accuracy of the minutes of the meeting. However, this contention of the directors was rejected by the High Court. In fact, the Court noted that the "arguments of the respondents that the February and April minutes of the meeting were false, in relevant respects, were the arguments, if accepted, may go to the extent of demonstrating that the respondents had failed to take the steps that are necessary for making sure that the minute books of the company were in fact, not false or misleading". It was held by the High Court that finding out the presence of other inaccuracies in the minutes did not result in establishing that the relevant parts of the minutes were not accurate. It is not necessarily implied by the fact that the minutes of the meeting were prepared in draft before the meeting was held, that these minut es did not provide a true record of what has taken place during the meeting. Even so, subsequently the boat and adopted the minutes as the true record of what has taken place. Another major issue present before the court was related with the failure of the ASIC in the Court of Appeal to call Mr. Robb, the external solicitors of James Hardie, as a witness as he had attended the meeting. While it was indicated by the Court of Appeal that a duty was present on part of the ASIC to call Mr. Robb, this was rejected by the High Court. It stated that neither the source of a duty of this nature, not the source of the rule, that has been claimed to be applicable in case of the breach of such duty, has been sufficiently identified by the Court of Appeal or in the arguments made before this Court. Ultimately, the court stated that by not calling Mr. Robb by the ASIC, there was no unfairness caused to the respondents or to the other defendants. In this way, the judgment delivered by the Court of Appeal was overturned by the High Court that ASIC could not satisfy the burden of proof that the draft announcement made to the ASX was tabled and approved during the board meeting held in February, 2001. The Court stated that the minutes of the board meeting for the formal record of what has occurred during the meeting, and therefore, need to be considered as the evidence of the truth of the matters that were recorded by them, particularly that a draft ASX announcement has been tabled and approved in this meeting. It was also helped by the court that the submission made by the respondents. According to which the minutes were inherently unreliable due to the fact that they had been prepared before the board meeting took place in February, and there were several inaccuracies present in these minutes, had been rejected by the High Court. It was stated by the Court that it would be "too great a coincidence" that not even one person who was present during the April meeting, in which the minutes of the February meeting with adopted, could notice that there was a resolution presented in these minutes, which to their knowledge, was not passed. Therefore, the High Court stated that in view of the case made by the respondents themselves, this would have been a glaring blunder or even worse than the blunder that a vitally significant resolution had been recorded, which never took place. Moreover, evidence was present with suggested that the draft announcement made before the ASX was circulated during the meeting as it was found by Mr. Robb, as well as revealed by the files of BIL Australia Pty Ltd., which has a large shareholding in James Hardie and two nonexecutive directors who were closely associated with this company, were present at this meeting. The court noted in this regard that while some differences were present between the draft that was held to be tabled during the meeting of the board held in February, the amendments that have been made to this draft announcement were properly described as being textual instead of being substantive, were not substantial, and the misrepresentations that have been made in the two, were the same. It was stated by the High Court that, "whether a deed that has been exhibited later on or an announcement that has been published later on, is the document that has been approved by the board, needs to be decided with the help of more than a little comparison between the two texts. It is possible to correct some slips and errors (ASIC v Rich, 2009). There are some cases, where it is possible to adopt a better but different wording. Hence the court stated that only due to the fact that som e small changes have been made, would at worst, "reveals no more that the individuals who made these changes did not have the authority to do so and in this case, it does not reveal that the company had not approved the draft announcement made to the ASX. Another factor was noted by the High Court in its decision was that when later on, the ASX announcement had been circulated, none of these persons had protested or demurred as to the terms of the announcement (Morley v ASIC, 2010). Although they have different appearances, weapons, and transportation, these two civilizations conduct their lives in the same way. Street gangs are so prevalent that they are all over the media, appearing in films, music, and television. Although street gangsters and pagan warriors lived at very different times, both groups embody the same ideals: strength, violence, and loyalty to their group. In the "Old English" epic, Beowulf, the pagan warriors were proud of their physical strength and abilities. Beowulf himself was well-known for his great strength and prowess. These warriors were large men with great muscular power who won many battles with brute force. Many battles were fought with manual weapons, such as clubs or swords, that required great power from the arms. The strongest men, such as Beowulf, were the ones that were the subject of stories told in many lands. Similar to this, street gangsters are also quite proud of their strength and abilities. But their strength does not primarily come from physical attributes. Their strength is measured by the amount of weapons, money, and power they hold. A less obvious example of gangs is in the new version of Romeo and Juliet. In this rendition of the old Shakespeare classic, the Capulets and Montagues are no longer just rival families, but now rival gangs who engage in tremendous violence against each other to keep the two lovers apart. But gang violence is also felt quite close to home. The guard for NC State's basketball team, Anthony Grundy, experienced gang- related violence, causing him to carry a gun to his high school in Louisville. Both gangs and pagan warriors found violence necessary to maintain individual and group status. A third similarity between these two societies is their loyalty to their groups. He also can tell things from the facial expressions. The Inspector uses a really interesting technique with the photograph of Eva Smith. He will only show one person at a time, he doesnt show them all at once. However, while reading the script many of us were thinking is this really a photo of the same girl? Or is it even a photograph. Inspector Goole could really be using a dramatic device to show the Birlings and make them look at themselves with disgust. I think it is a bit strange that the Inspector never shows the photo to them all at once, this make me think that either it is a photo of a different girl or in fact not a photograph at all. I think that this was not a photograph the inspector was showing but a mirror. To make them look closely at them selves, exam themselves with disgust and hatred. When they look in the mirror maybe they dont only see themselves, they could see everything they have done in a quick glimpse, maybe they see Eva Smiths face, staring back at them crying in pain and agony. I think the mirror is a good theory. This would explain why each one of them had a different reaction to the photograph. As they are really seeing themselves and are each reacting with more or less awareness of what they have done. The inspector is not there to destroy their lives. He does not want to ruin them he just wants them to realize what they are doing and change it before it too late. He has a sort of sympathy towards Sheila the youngest child. He does not want to destroy her and make her think that it was all her fault, he just wants to help her And if she leaves us now and doesnt hear anymore then she will fear she is entirely to blame. The inspector doesnt want her to feel any blame on Evas death, he just wants her to realize she had an impact on Eva Smiths death, so that she can teach herself respect towards others. Inspector Goole only seems off hand with Mr. and Mrs. Birling. It is as if he wants them to set a good example to their children and change the way they are. I think the inspector does feel sympathy towards the children as he realizes they are only like this as this is how their parents brought them up. There is no possible way that you can take advantage of Inspector Goole.  He knows exactly what he is doing. He talks about Eva Smith/ Daisy Renton quite kind and sympathetic, showing that he has affection for her.  The Inspector appears to be really successful. The way that he squeezes information out of people, hardly having to say a word himself. He has a way that he will just make them feel so bad about themselves that they spill out all the information. Also, he keeps on coming back to the point he has asked until he has squeezed all the information he possibly could out. So, the inspector does appear to be successful with getting information out about the death. However, is this really what he is trying to be successful with? If he is trying to make them realize what they have done was he successful? I think that on some members of the family they really did realize what they had done. Shelia, for example, she felt really bad about what she had done and so did Eric. So the Inspector was successful teaching them a lesson. Mr. and Mrs. Birling however, felt that they had nothing to do with the death and that they were not to blame at all. They were so stubborn they couldnt even realize they were the worst out of all of them. The Inspector was more successful with the information about Eva Smith. Although I think that the ending would have left all of them realizing what they had done, so the Inspector was successful, even if the Birlings would not admit to being in the wrong. The Inspector has a different impression and impact/effect on each one of the characters. This is due to the fact of the different characteristics of the charters, and how responsible they feel about the death.  Mr. Birling is rather annoyed with the Inspectors surprise visit, because he was celebrating his daughters engagement and feels that having an Inspector question him will ruin his chance of being on the New years Honors list. Mr. Birling also feels that the death is his problem at all and that he should have nothing to do with it. This however is entirely wrong, as he was the one that started of the chain reaction that led Eva Smith to her devastating death. Mrs. Birling reacts really stubbornly. She feels that the Inspector was rude towards her, and she too does not see why the Inspector is bringing her in to this as has far as she can see, she was not to blame at all for the death.  The Inspector has a big effect on Sheila. He claims that he often makes a great impression on the younger ones, We often do on the younger ones, they are more impressionable. Sheila is the only one who really hears what the Inspector is actually saying, and feels great sympathy and regret about what had happened. She is not to scared to admit to the Inspector that she knows she was in the wrong, no other character was brave/stronger enough to do this. The Inspectors theory about the younger ones must be correct. Gerald does not seem to have much of an effect from the Inspector. He seems quite calm about the whole situation, but then the Inspector is a bit nicer towards Gerald as he was the only one who made Eva Smith happy. Gerald leaves half way through the dinner. The biggest effect that the Inspector has on Gerald is that he breaks up their engagement by informing Sheila that Gerald had been having an affair. Gerald almost does not trust the Inspector and sees through his sneaking little ways, as later he questions people about Inspector Goole actually being an Inspector. Eric Birling, also one of the younger one, has a big effect from the Inspector. He realizes what he had done, and is angry with him self for not being able to help Eva and his baby, he also is mad with himself for stealing money from his father. He is feeling great regret about his actions. The Inspector makes Eric feel as if he killed his own child. Eric is very hurt and angry with himself.  The Inspector was trying to effect the Birlings life as he is trying to teach them a lesson about how to behave with others. He said that they have an effect on the younger ones, Sheila and Eric were the only Birlings who actually realized what they had done. The Inspector probably did change their lives. However, Mr. and Mrs. Birling did not feel any different after the Inspectors visit, as they are too stubborn to see they are in the wrong. This is quite sad as they were the main problem and they brought their children up that way, treating others badly, but they can not do a thing to change themselves.

Another instance where Athena uses a disguise to act as a mentor is closer to the en d of the book. Athena was disguised as a common man, and walked up to Odysseus, who was unaware of his location. Excited to see another person, Odysseus asks for help in protecting him and his belongings, along with asking where he currently is. Athena accused Odysseus of being uneducated man for not realizing he is in the well-recognized country of Ithaca. Odysseus is ecstatic to find out he has arrived back in his home land, and formulates a lie about how he came to arrive where he did, sure not to give away his identity. Here Athena is using her power to disguise herself to give Odysseus information about his location.
